Yes! Food safety is taken very seriously at The Odd Crumb.
The business has a 5-star Food Hygiene Rating, and I have completed relevant food safety and hygiene training. The Odd Crumb also has appropriate public and product liability insurance.
From ingredient storage and preparation through to decorating and packaging, food is handled in accordance with appropriate food safety practices.

The Odd Crumb operates from a home kitchen where a range of allergens are used and handled. Because of this, I cannot guarantee that any cake is completely free from allergens or that cross-contamination will not occur.
I can, however, cater to a range of dietary preferences and requirements where possible. Depending on the cake and your requirements, this may include options such as gluten-free, dairy-free or vegan cakes.
Please tell me about any allergies or dietary requirements when enquiring, before your order is confirmed. I’ll always be honest about what I can and cannot accommodate.
My kitchen handles ingredients including gluten, milk, eggs, soya and nuts, among others.
If you have a severe or life-threatening allergy, please get in touch before ordering so we can discuss whether I can safely make a cake for you. If I don’t feel I can do so safely, I will always say so.

Collection is available from The Odd Crumb in GU10 at an agreed time.
Delivery is available and is always chargeable. Standard delivery starts from £10, with the final cost depending on the distance and location. The delivery charge will be confirmed when your quote is provided.
For wedding cakes, a typical delivery and set-up fee is £70, which includes delivering the cake and setting it up at the venue. Further distances may incur an additional charge.
Tiered cakes will always be delivered and set up by me to ensure they arrive safely and are properly assembled at the venue.
For collection, your cake will be securely boxed. Once collected, please transport it carefully on a flat, stable surface, keep it cool and out of direct sunlight, and avoid leaving it in a hot car.
A 15-minute grace period is allowed for late collections. After this, a £10 late collection fee will apply. If you are going to be significantly late, please contact me as soon as possible. If you arrive more than 30 minutes after your agreed collection time, collection may need to be rearranged depending on availability.
-
I always recommend keeping your cake refrigerated until it is ready to be served. Please make sure you have enough space in your fridge before collecting your cake — the amount of space needed will depend on the size and design of your cake.
For collection, your cake will be securely boxed and must be transported on a completely flat and stable surface. This could be in a suitable space in your boot or on the flat floor of a footwell. Do not place the cake on a car seat, as the angle and movement can cause it to shift or become damaged.
When transporting your cake, please keep the car's air conditioning on and avoid leaving the cake in a hot vehicle or in direct sunlight.
Once your cake has been collected, responsibility for transporting and storing it safely passes to you. Please follow the storage instructions provided with your cake to keep it looking and tasting its best.ption

Send an enquiry through the booking form on my website with the date, occasion, number of servings, flavour, design ideas and any inspiration pictures you have. If you have a budget in mind, you’re welcome to include that too.
I’ll check my availability and provide a quote based on your requirements. Your date is only secured once your booking has been confirmed and the required deposit has been paid.
The more notice you can give me, the better — particularly for weekends, larger cakes and more detailed designs. However, if you need something last-minute, please get in touch as I may still be able to help.
-
Every cake is bespoke, so prices vary depending on the size, flavour, fillings, decoration and complexity of the design.
I have starting prices listed on my menu and price section, so you can get an idea of costs before enquiring. Once I know what you’re looking for, I’ll provide a personalised quote based on your requirements.
If you have a particular budget in mind, let me know — I can suggest design options to help you get the most from it.

A 50% deposit is required to secure your booking and date. The remaining 50% balance is then due before your cake is collected or delivered.
For wedding cakes, the final balance is due 4 weeks before the wedding date.
For all other cakes, the final balance is due 2 weeks before collection or delivery.
The 50% deposit is non-refundable, as your date is reserved specifically for your order and I may have to turn away other bookings for the same date.
If you need to cancel your order, please let me know as soon as possible. If you cancel:
More than 2 weeks before your cake date (or more than 4 weeks for a wedding cake), your remaining balance will not be due, but your 50% deposit will remain non-refundable.
Within 2 weeks of your cake date (or within 4 weeks for a wedding cake), the full balance will be payable, as it may no longer be possible to fill your booking with another order.
If you need to change your collection or delivery date rather than cancel, please get in touch as soon as possible. I’ll always try to accommodate a new date where I have availability, but this cannot be guaranteed.
If The Odd Crumb needs to cancel your order, for example due to illness or circumstances that mean I am unable to safely complete your cake, you will receive a full refund of all payments made. I will always give you as much notice as possible and, where appropriate, do my best to help you find an alternative solution.
Changes to the size, flavour or design may affect the price and must be agreed before work begins.
Full booking terms will be provided when your order is confirmed.

Small changes may be possible depending on how far in advance you get in touch. Please note that changes to the size, flavour or overall design may affect the price.
Once preparation or decorating has begun, changes may no longer be possible, so the earlier you let me know, the better.
